RIP QUEEN Whitney Elizabeth Houston

While this still hasn't set in with me, I know it's ONLY right to pay HOMAGE to the true QUEEN, Whitney Houston. Where does one begin to explain the LOVE and ADMIRATION they have for such a vocal LEGEND! I think across the world, the majority of us feel like Whitney was a member of our family. And that's how you know when they've done their job as an artist. When you feel a connection farther than their music, to the point where you feel connected to them personally.

When I found out Ms. Houston passed, I thought it was a rumor. The confirmation was when all the radio stations started playing her songs, back to back. Me and one of my best friends held hands and sung together. This moment will forever be remembered, as well as her legacy. This will live on without me even saying.

Before these artists of today, Whitney HAILED as the sole Queen of her era. The 1980's music industry belonged to her. And why wouldn't it? Her talent is so indescribably remarkable. I mean TALENT. Her records have NOTHING on her live! Which is crazy because for most artists these days, its just the opposite. We all have our favorite Whitney songs, my top three are [1.] The Greatest Love Of All [2.] How Will I Know [3.] Run To You

[1.] My takeaway from The Greatest Love Of All has been something that I have truly learned and valued forever. I loved this quote so much, that I actually wanted this as a tattoo! "Learning to love yourself, is the greatest love of all!" This is soooooo true. When you truly love yourself, accept yourself for all your victories and flaws, it is the BEST self gratification ever!
[2.] This was my anthem when I first started falling for my boyfriend and was scared! You know as us girls, or any of us for that matter! We want to know that the person we're falling for, is falling for us before we fall!
[3.] There is no deep meaning behind this song- she just KILLS vocally!!!!!!

Okay! I was on Madonna SO hard after that performance that I really researched her like it was for a school report!

I have been in Madonna OVERLOAD since her Superbowl halftime performance! This performance was INSANE!!! LOVED IT!

If you missed it- where were you?! When I first found out Madonna would be performing, I thought "why??" but now I see! Her voice is AMAZEEEEE!!! So soft, yet powerful! Definitely angelic is the best word to describe it!

Growing up, I knew Madonna for being a sex kitten and for singing "Material Girl" ... I had NO clue of her success of her other songs until I got older, but still I had no extreme interest (like that of Bey!) of her music! All that has changed for me!

All morning I have been looking at her YouTube vid's! Literally going crazy! Where have I been!? I feel like I have been missing out!

MCM Mayhem

I've always been a bag lady! My boyfriend asked me recently "aren't you getting tired of bags???" my answer was "NO! How could I?!" ... And how could I?! It's like getting new shoes, or new lip gloss even! You HAVE to just have one for any and every occasion!

Ok! Diary entry! Last summer I wanted a new classic bag! I wasn't sure if I wanted to go with Gucci or Louis! I was wrecking my brain trying to figure this out and when I went to go buy my Gucci, they didn't have one that made me go crazy! I went home and thought, I really don't want a bag that everyone knows about- I wanted something different! Called my MCM crazed sister/ cousin and made her SWEAR to not tell anyone that I wanted a MCM! Mainly b/c people knew, but not knew about MCM! It wasn't a bag that many people would go to first because Louis was so major!

She called me about a month later and said "SHON, you HAVE to see this new bag by MCM. You're going to LOVE it" ... she sent it to me and I said "WE HAVE TO GET IT!" We searched for that bag for 2 days and LUCKILY, a lady called her from Bloomy's and said we have 3 bags left! She came over my house and we went STRAIGHT there, ran to the counter and the lady said there was only 1 left! I told her she could just have it cause I knew how much she loved it! ... The lady then said, "Sorry, I didn't see this one, we have 2 left" ... We literally hugged each other and jumped up and down!! LOL! That's how serious we were about that bag!

Straight Up!

I was SO intrigued to learn that J. Cole sampled Paula Abdul's 1989 hit "Straight Up" in one of his new hits "Work Out". I was only 4 years old when this song came out, and while I am a oldies, but goodies FIEND, I had no clue this was a sample, nor knowledge that it was hers! Love it!!

Fendi Nation

I was minding my own business when my eyes caught a glimpse of some of these Fendi things! I then was instantly drawn in! But how could you resist?! I think my new thing just may be Fendi! Forget everything else for the moment and focus your attention to this BEYOND Fendi collection!

Growing up, I saw Fendi as a drag because the colors weren't as exciting- while it is your perfect everyday bag, it didn't MAKE me go spend money to purchase one like others! Ohhh, but now! I need to prepare my wallet for the things that are about to happen!

The booties at the bottom are guaranteed to take you OUT!

 

 

Other items ...

I almost lost it when I saw some of Rachel Zoe's collection! I LOVE HER! She's as chic as chic gets! Most people rock labels just so they can say they are rocking labels! But Rachel looks for simplicity in designers and puts everything together so effortlessly gorgeous! I love her bohemian look! It fits her so well! The bag that I love in her collection is SO her! I can totally see her with that on her arm! That makes it so much better to reach your audience! When [some] people design based on their style its a guaranteed win!

My next victim was this YSL pumps! Aren't they to DIE?! Perfect for a birthday cocktail party or quick event!

I never was a Tom's girl, but knowing that they're innovating new prints in their collection does give me hope because they look so comfy! I need a spring running around shoe! If you see any other new Tom prints- let me know! I'm ready!

Spring CleanINg

While [window] shopping on Neiman's website! I found soooo many cute items for Spring! I LIVE for a BEYOND [meaning it SCREAMS everything you need in life and more!!!] bag!! But what caught my attention were the new twists Loubi's are giving this season!

Glitter shoes have been in for the past 2 years! But THESE are beauties!!! I LIVE for a slingback! This pump is beyond perfect! It has every look combined! What more could a girl ask for!

NOTHING beats these Alexander McQueen wedges!! WHEW!! I so wasn't ready for these!

  

And if you don't know! I've been on Burberry HARD this past season! They're keeping up quite well in the fashion game! No more bland plaids for them! These woven sandals are HOTTTT!!
