Brand to Watch: Faherty Brand Swim Suits

Twin brothers, Mike and Alex Faherty always had a dream of creating a company together ever since growing up near the beach in New Jersey. They turned this dream into what we know now as the Faherty Brand swim collection. This up and coming brand uses recycled plastics to create their beautiful swim wear that is trendy and sustainable. Mike spent seven years working in design for Ralph Lauren and Alex had a finance job; combining their skills makes their company both fashionable, and profitable. Check out their About section of their site for their full story shown below:

Their missing statement is simple: "I've learned that premium quality materials and superior craftmanship are the integral elements to design. Since the creation of our namesake brand, I've tirelessly planned every stitch, detail, color, and yarn count and spent months in the world's leading factories perfecting each product. I travel the world searching for inspiration, collecting indigenous textiles and vintage fabrics and researching innovative, eco-conscious means to manufacture. My never-ending mission is to create the highest quality casual clothing." Premium products with high fashion patterns. The brand was recently featured on E! and has one factory store open in New York City.

Their signature swimwear fabric is made primarily of recycled polyester from plastic bottles blended with Lycra® that not only has an impeccable fit and luxurious feel, but is eco-friendly.

The benefits of recycled polyester as listed on their site are:
-          Requires approximately 2/3 less energy and almost 90% less water than the production of virgin polyester
-          Reduces global hydrocarbon consumption and emissions
-          Utilizes post-consumer discards that would otherwise end up on ocean, beaches, landfills, other water sources or produce toxic emissions during incineration
-          Creates less air, water and soil contamination
By working to protect our environment, especially the oceans, lakes and rivers that are central to our life’s passions, our hope is that Faherty Brand not only represents a commitment to high quality clothing, but to ensuring a continued quality of life on the water for generations to come.

The Faherty brothers have designed a line of suits in various prints and styles. You can mix and match the tops and bottoms for any number of suits. The bustier suits are their most popular but they also have string top and one piece bikinis on the women's portions of their website.

On their men's site, they have board shorts, trunks and all day shorts for purchase. Select from the adorable styles above for the beach and for loungewear styles. For more on the brand check out their interview with GQ to get more insight on what makes the twins tick. Shop their site today before it gets too popular!

Be Business Casual NOT Business Confused

Dressing for the workplace can be a dangerous game for us women. You want to walk the line between feminine and flirty without overdoing it. It can be horribly embarrassing if you miss the mark on dress code in the office. You always want your outfit to show your professionalism. Follow the guide below to avoid any mishaps.

For dresses, make sure all cuts are knee length, don't show too much skin and are the right fit. Too tight or too loose is never a plus.

Iron everything you own. Wrinkles can make you look unkempt and sloppy. Invest in a steamer or garment bag for your best pieces.

Use subtle makeup in the office. Pinks and pale blushes are best on the skin and nude lipsticks are great too. Add some eye liner and mascara and you'll be good to go.

Small heels are wearable and fashionable for the office. Don't overwear your shoes or bring stilettos to work. You dress for the job you want, not the job you have.

Finally, for guys and gals, remain well groomed. Shave your legs ladies and men, be sure to get rid of that beard before office time.

Check yourself before, during and after work for any unsightly wardrobe malfunctions or lunchtime oopses. Be on fashion ready every day at work.

Coachella Fashion

All hail festival season! The warmer weather is upon us which means one important thing: festivals are back. Outdoor music festivals are the best part of spring and summer. The music is great, the sun is out and the fashion is prime. This season kicked off with Ultra in Miami and was soon followed by Coachella. Coachella is an arts and music festival that first started in 1999. The three day music festival is located in the deserts of California and feature some of the most alternative, indie music that is currently popular. The fashion scene in California on the two weekends is almost as unbelievable as the musical acts.

The festival is overrun with celebrities! Most concert goers spot celebs roaming freely without a body guard  They enjoy the music just like everyone else. Kelly Osborne, Vanessa Hudgens and Kate Bosworth are among the frequent attendees for the event. Their fashion choices help them blend with the crowd and enjoy the bohemian culture that surrounds the event.

Festival fashion often begs the question: which came first, the chicken or the egg? Did high fashion inspire hippie fashion or did the alternative dress inspire runway trends? It is a little of both. The 1960's anti-war movement also adorned the same fashions seen at Coachella. These retro, loose fitting clothing show appreciation of the earth and demonstrate little concern for earthly, high cost possessions.

The looks above are a simple guide to looking fabulous at these festivals. Tribal or loose flowing floral tops are a great way to show your earth love. A crop top or bandeau are also popular looks. Patterned skirts, shorts or pants are also chic for the event. A free flowing dress is a good way to stay and look cool at the shows as well.

High waisted shorts are a must this summer. Vintage Levis are making a strong comeback at these events and have been spotted on celebs and fashionistas last weekend at Coachella. They look great with a crop-top or a one piece suit. The high waist tucks in your tummy and flaters your bum.

As far as accessories are concerned, the more the better. You'll want to stack your bracelets and rings as much as you can. Turquoise is the stone to be seen and other tribal accessories match ensembles seen in the desert. Bags should have fringe or a native American inspired print. The more vibrant the better. If you can add some flowers to your hair, by all means do! A floral crown is a dainty and feminine accessory for your concert garb.

The three main items you need to make your concert going experience trendy are crochet, fringe and American Flag inspired pieces. Check out the Windsor lookbook for more concert ideas on how to be Coachella and festival ready.

White Hot White Denim

White denim is back in action. It has been in hiding since Labor Day and now, it's time to break out that white for Spring. The white jean look is fresh and clean for a whole new season. This look can be easily dressed up for a nice dinner or dressed down for an afternoon shopping date with a gal pal. Either way, it's time to find yourself some white denim.

The celebrity world loves this laid back look. It has even infiltrated the royal family as Princess Kate Middleton wears her white denim on the streets of London. Superstars Miranda Kerr, Victoria Beckham and Gweneth Paltrow love their white denim pants. You can complete the look with heels, wedges or even flats with a chic bag. Steal their style and make it your own.

White denim is adorable with a chambray shirt. The two denim fabrics can keep you warm on chillier days but also breathe to allow for some sunshine on your back. Brown wedges look best with this ensemble and a chunky, bauble necklace is the perfect accessory to round out your outfit. This look is great on all body types and all styles!

Want the look without the length? Simple! Buy some white denim shorts! They look great with short and long sleeve shirts. This very casual look is playful for a concert, beach or afternoon lunch. You can shop for some high waisted styles to stay trendy.

To appease your more feminine side, you can shop for these styles in a skirt version! You can find a pencil skirt for the office or a fun mini skirt for a picnic or pool scenario. Shop on Polyvore for some of the looks listed above.

Trend Alert: Flow Print Pants

This retro trend is coming back with a vengeance. Flowing printed pants are chic for spring and summer. Their lightweight, non-cling fabric has women comfortably covering up without feeling over heated. The trend is adorable with a fitted top and prefect for a day on the town. This 80's inspired trend will have you feeling like Jasmine but looking trendy.

This looser look has been debuted on runways on worn by supermodels in the fashion world. Miranda Kerr looks flawless in her flowing pant. And, although these stars and models are very slender, this look is also adorable on fuller figured girls. The loose trend accents your curves but doesn't cling to unwanted areas. Miley Cyrus, Gwen Stefani and Vanessa Hudgens love their printed pants for casual outings.

The most popular way t wear this trend is with a basic top. A tight fitted plain tank looks great with the loose flowy nature of the busy prints. This way, you can show off your figure and still rock the trend. A plain white T-shirt makes the look more casual and a black blouse dresses the look up. Heels, wedges or flats all look great with these pants.

The tribal print is the most popular fashion for these bottoms. The zig zag patterns and bright colors lend themselves to the bohemian nature of the pant. These pants can often look like skirts with their flared bottoms but are much more playful because you don't need to concern yourself with flashing anyone. Sandals are the most popular shoe for this look.

Black and floral are two more popular ways to wear this trend. The black and white print allows you to wear more vibrant color on the top. Bright orange, green or even denim looks great with these basic colors. Floral is, of course, a trend for spring. You can find these items in a flowered pattern that matches the season.

For those more bold fashionistas, you can try print on print! Two different flowers or mixing an animal print with a natural print is tres chic if you're confident enough to pull it off. Never select two of the same print.. you could appear to be wearing a jumpsuit! Try Forever 21 for a flowy pant that works for you.

Spring

Spring is all about fun pastel colors and floral prints! The three celebrities above nail spring fashion. Diana Agron loves her dainty floral fashions. She inspired her character Quin on Glee and adapted some of her style as well. Anthropologie is her store of choice. Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester loves her preppy bright colors! Her floral skirt and matching shoes to her blouse make her ensemble perfect for spring. Last but not least, Zooey Deschanel has always been a spring diva. She loves pastels, cute flats and lots of bows or frills. Thrift shop for some of the looks above.

Casual

The queens of casual are in town! Miranda Kerr is always flawless on the runway as a Victoria's Secret model but her casual looks are even more darling. Slacks and solids are her calling card. Tapered olive pants or black cropped pants with booties or heels look great for a casual look. Keira Knightley is a friend to the casual dress. Front buttons, a belt and a wedge is all you need to steal her look. Rachel Bilson has been a fashion icon since The O.C. Her style is comfortable yet retro. Slouchy seaters and booties make her look relaxed. Mix up your look with jeans or a skirt accompanied by sunglasses and a  satchel.

"But most of my time is spent at work, how am I supposed to steal their style?" Simple! You can adapt some of their looks to be office ready Courtney Cox is a perfect example of how a dress can be business appropriate. A covered look with simple accessories is a great look for daytime. You can also always look to Michelle Obama for style tips on professionalism. The girls are perfect role models for your little ones as well. Katherine Heigl also has a classic style that covers all the right places. Color pop pants, a blouse and heels is classy and subtle for the workplace, just add a blazer.
