Styl-In' H2O

"In order to reflect, think and plan, you must quiet yourself. You can’t see your reflection in churning waters. Water must be still to see your reflection."
Karen Susman, The Remarkable Networking Toolbox
So ... You're having a long day ... There's a lot on your mind. Regular everyday stresses, and to add to it, achy muscles. You're just looking for an ultimate solution, one that will take care of everything you're experiencing in one moment! Welp, look no futher! How about a long steamy relaxing bath?!
With dimmed lighting, candles lit, your favorite bath beads or oils, soft music or maybe even silence. Lets be frank, that relaxation and over all indulging soothing sensation can not be achieved by a quick shower. Actually nothing "quick" will do it at all. There is just something about a good ole bath. There are even studies that show the health benefits of taking baths ( The Benefits of Taking a Bath )

As you can already see, this is not your ordinary fashion and style post! What's a bath tub have to do with style you say?! EVERYTHING!! These days, everything inside of your home is equal to an accessory to an outfit. There are so many different styles, colors, sizes, etc. to virtually everything! ... Including bathtubs! Take a look at these beauties and get ready for your next bath in style!!

"Diamond Bathtub by Lori Gardner that was made of 44,928 pink # Swarovski crystal costs $39,000. The bathtub took three years to be created by diligent artisans. Recently, #Beyonce who is also expecting a (girl) child received this pink Swarovski studded baby bathtub from Kelly Rowland. This bathtub costs $7000 and weighs more than 3,000 pounds. "

I guess only the best for Baby Blue :-)

Time for the history lesson!

"When thinking about antique bathtubs we need to remember that the bathroom, as we know it, is still relatively new. Before 1870, Victorians would slide into a hipbath in front of the fire. These shallow baths were curved up the back making a comfortable rest and were made of iron or zinc, usually painted dark brown on the outside and cream or marbled on the inside."  ( Antique Bathtubs)

Wow.....Right? I guess it served its purpose!

Modern version of antique bathtub...My thoughts... #vintage will still ALWAYS rule!! :-)
Modern version of an antique bath tub

"In the latter part of the 19th century the hot water system was invented, pumping water round the house through pipes. Drainage and sewage systems were improved and knowledge about hygiene improved. This led to the first fixed bathrooms in late Victorian homes, that soon became status symbols. At first bathrooms were converted from bedrooms keeping the cozy style complete with fireplaces and stained glass windows. Cast-iron baths, coated inside with white porcelain enamel were surrounded by wood panels to hide any ugly pipes."  ( More info )

Hmmmmm....Interesting.....

 The Madarin Oriental

Jade Mountain

"The sanctuaries (don't call them rooms)" WOW!!!!
"at this Caribbean resort have only three walls, making the Piton mountains, which rise sharply from the immaculately blue Caribbean Sea below, part of the space. Rinse off in the rain shower after a dip in the private infinity pool, or take a long soak in the whirlpool tub, which is raised up on a pedestal for the best views possible."

Rayavadee

"Tucked away with nothing but verdant hills, Phranang’s white sand beach and the Adaman Sea for neighbors, Rayavadee is all about relaxation. The elevated, circular bathtubs are constructed from stone, teak and bamboo, and it’s safe to assume floating flower petals and flickering candles as regular accompaniments."

That's all folks!!! Hope you're inspired to soak all your troubles away pretty soon! :-) Even if it's not one of these luxurious tubs above, a tub is a tub! Hey, what do you have to lose?! We all deserve some "me" time. Take a moment to relax, reflect, and unwind. Moments like these allow rejuvenation and restoration. Give yourself permission to unwind..... Sweet soaking, goodnight all!!
