Sir, Yes Sir: Army Coats

Army coats have been showing up on the fashion scene for quite some time. This olive green is traditionally worn by men in service. The green or camouflage jackets are generally used to blend in with their surroundings during war. They also wear this color on the base and it is sometimes referred to as Army Green. These coats are stepping out of the infantry and into high fashion.

The traditional camouflage print has been seen on civilians since the 1990s. The Spice Girls famously wore "camo" pants and these became all the rage in teens and young women. Style has far progressed passed 90s trends. The camo print is now being worn on jackets and being taken a step further by being glammed up! Adding gem studs or a fur pelt to the traditional print is chic and girly for this trend. This relaxed look is sexy and rugged.

Fur detailing on army inspired coats is the perfect solution for winter. Kate Moss and runway designers love their fur and olive green. Usually, you can find these coats with a fur trimmed neckline or embellished hood. Stores like Abercrombie and LL Bean carry the styles above.

These coats also come in a variety of styles for the every day girl! You can find a chic vest style for the more casual days out. This look is best paired with a long sleeve shirt and a fun color pop pair of jeans. Cropped styles are also darling on the right figure. This shape can make some women look stumpy so only try this if you have a long and lean middle section. The elongated army trench is the most popular style for this trend. You will look like you borrowed your Army guy's jacket to rock the "boyfriend" trend.

These jackets can also be chic and feminine. A tailored or sleek style can make you look slender and classy at all once. Wearing this usually bulky item a bit smaller over dark basics is a look to die for. You can also find a coat with stylish buttons or flared shoulder detailing. When in doubt, pair your olive coat with a very girly ensemble. Bows, flats and feminine accessories are the perfect balance to this item.

If you're a more dainty dresser, we have the perfect army solution for you. Wearing a long jacket over a skirt of dress is a cute way to show off your sporty, approachable side. A long maxi dress looks perfect underneath this olive coat. If you're more of a short and flirty fashionista, cropped skirts and dresses look fabulous with this trend.

This trend also lends itself to the winter casual look. It makes the perfect top layer for a cozy layered look. Wear these jackets with killer boots, trendy tights or chunky winter accessories like a pair of mittens or scarf for chilly days. This coast is super versatile and will never lead you astray from being fashionable!
