10 Best Oscar Dresses

Awards season is upon us. The biggest awards show is this weekend and there is a lot of hype around the fashion of The Oscars. The award can change an actor or actress' life forever. Sunday is a big night for us, the actors and designers around the world. The question all of us will be wanting the answer to is: "Who are you wearing?" We complied a list of the top 10 dresses that wowed throughout the year. The winners are:

1) Halle Berry, 2002
Halle Berry solidified her status as a Hollywood A-lister when she won Best Actress for 'Monster's Ball' in 2002 in this jaw-dropping Elie Saab gown. This gown was talked about for years after she wore it and many still remember to today. Elie Saab's name was launched into stardom after Berry wore this dress. Endless knockoffs were created to resemble this look.

2) Charlize Theron, 2004
The stunning actress showed off he incredible figure in a glittering Gucci gown while accepting the Best Actress award for her ugly turn in 'Monster.' Theron selected a color that enhanced her natural coloring. Her understated jewelry was perfect for this glittering gown.

3) Hilary Swank, 2005
Hilary showed off her sculpted figure in this high-necked, sapphire-blue Guy Laroche gown. The backside of the dress reveals a surprise with a low-cut, backless cut that shows off the actress's toned assets. She pioneered the low back and the fuller front balanced the gown for a touch of class.

4) Jessica Alba, 2006
Jessica was a true golden girl in this embroidered Versace gown. She complemented the look with an elegant updo and oversized statement earrings. This look is still fresh today and a go to for Alba. She looked as elegant as Oscar himself.

5) Amy Adams, 2008
This green strapless Proenza Schouler dress matched Amy’s emerald eyes. The starlet complimented the gown’s sweetheart neckline with loose waves. The hair looks retro and compliments the dress style. Fitted and flared, Amy hit the mark with this gown and made Proenza Schouler look stunning.

6) Natalie Portman, 2009
Natalie was pretty in pink with this Grecian-inspired Rodarte gown. The accomplished actress completed the look with Kwiat jewelry and a vintage Rialto clutch. Portman often wears Rodarte because the designer is structured and funky all at once. 

7) Zoe Saldana, 2010
The "Avatar" star went for drama in a show-stopping purple ruffled Givenchy Haute Couture gown, along with Lorraine Schwartz amethyst and diamond jewelry. The purple is super flattering on the actress and the flowing ruffles are super fresh for the season in LA. The sequin top was ahead of its time and stunning for her figure.

8) Jennifer Hudson, 2011
Jennifer Hudson flaunted her incredible slimmed down form in this va-va-voom Versace tangerine orange dress. 'Oh my god I cant sleep at night,' she gushed on the red carpet. 'When I first tried on the dress I didn’t want to take it off! The retro hairstyle and classic accessories really pulled the look together.

9) Jennifer Lawrence, 2011
Jennifer Lawrence may be a newcomer but this dress proved she's here to stay. The Best Actress nominee for 'Winter's Bone' was flawless in a red Calvin Klein made specifically for her by head designer Francisco Costa. Jennifer went super classic and simple and it paid off. The world is watching for what she may wear this season!

10) Jennifer Lopez, 2012
Although J. Lo was only a presenter last year, a plunging Zuhair Murad gown with cut-out sleeves stole the show! Her figure and stunning color choice wowed fashion lovers everywhere!
