If we lived in an ideal world, every thing out fit perfectly all the time. But alas, sizes exist and not everyone is shaped like the perfect size 2. Variety is the spice of life and we girls have to learn how to dress for the body we have! No one in the world will look quite as stunning as you do in your secret-weapon pieces. Women should celebrate the body they were lucky enough to be born with. The ten body types and pairings below are suggestions on how to best dress your figure.
Apple
For Apples, it's important to define your waist and flaunt your killer gams. A tailored blazer keeps things nipped in and structured on top while a beautiful, flowing midi skirt balances out your upper half while skimming your hips and showing off your legs. Tailored blazers and flowing midi skirts are your perfect match
Curvy
For a woman with curves to spare, you've got plenty of options to show them off, but nothing will make you look as goddess-like as, well, a goddess-style dress that's cut on the bias (the way it'll flow, drape, and fall of your curves is almost criminal). For more casual occasions, a soft romper with a built-in waist tie is a beautiful option. Belted rompers and Grecian flowing dresses are your secret weapon.
Boyish
Whereas other girls might find their curves getting in the way of clothes and accessories, your straight frame makes you the perfect candidate for pieces that come with built-in va-va-voom. Peplum-style tops and dresses always look chic without running the risk of looking vulgar on those with boyish figures, and belted waists will never be obstructed by your curves. Create those curves with peplum tops and belts
Busty
To keep your volumous chest under control (while also giving them their moment in the limelight), wrap-style tops and dresses cover up tricky bra straps while displaying that devastating cleavage. To top it off, a cropped blazer will make your lower half look fuller, for just a bit of balance. Wrap styles are best for you and your girls.
Carrot
With broad shoulders and narrow legs, you've got the body shape that perfectly suits one of our favorite outfit combos: the oversized knit and skinny jean. Find a pair with some stretch to ensure the pants fit perfectly, and match it with a soft, slouchy top. You want to balance your body type with oversized tops and skinny jeans.
Hourglass
You've got boobs and a butt and an itty-bitty waist. Now, let the world know what you're working with by showing off all your assets in a longer-length pencil skirt and a scoop-neck top. Look for both in fabrics with a bit of stretch and substance, so they lay flat without bunching or pulling. Scooped-neck shirts and tight skirts show off your womanly figure.
The Pear
For ladies with a bodacious lower-half, clothes that skim your curves without suffocating them make your top look tiny and your legs look longer. Tea dresses with a full skirt and wide-legged, high-waisted pants lengthen your figure and flaunt that booty. High waited pants are also flattering on fuller bottoms!
Petite & Compact
While most women would shy away from stomach-baring crop tops and unforgiving bandage dresses, you've totally got the figure to pull it off. So, why not flaunt it? These lucky ladies can pull off tight and revealing silhouettes like a bandage dress or bandeau.
Short Legs
Ladies with shorter legs can get away with high-waist miniskirts without making their upper halves seem out of proportion (plus, the look will actually give your legs the effect of looking longer). Choose a platform shoe in a nude color to really help you tack on a few more inches. High-waisted skirts and nude shoes will give you the appearance of legs for days.
Small Chest
Girls with smaller chests can get away with all manners of high-fashion pieces like floss-thin straps, deep necks, and paper thin fabrics. A blockbuster necklace also will lay beautifully on your body — so take advantage!Statement necklaces and ruffle will add volume to your chest!
Now go out and dress what your momma gave you!
