2013 Oscar Fashion

The Academy Awards went off last night as stars claimed their tiny statues or were disappointed by not hearing their name called to the big screen. Heart break and triumph were the themes of last nights' Oscars and the fashion was no different. This is the Olympics of style. Designers dream of having their creations on an Oscar winner. It will solidify their fame or launch them into stardom. Here are some of the looks to love from last night.

White and cream was a huge trend last night on the winter red carpet. Charlize Theron wore Christian Dior Haute Couture and Harry Winston Jewelry to look flawless. The South African beauty is up for Vogue's best dressed award and looks stunning as she danced on stage with Channing Tatum during the opening event. Zoe Saldana also looked breathtaking in in her white and grey bodice dress. Although she was given heat for wearing too many accessories, this dress was a hit and fitted her to perfection. Amanda Seyfried wore a custom Alexander McQueen dress to the event and although she didn't win, she most definitely wowed her fans.

These ladies were pretty in pink (and red) this weekend for the Academy Awards. Maria Menounos stunned in a Romona Keveza gown with Jimmy Choo shoes and a Swarovski clutch. Jennifer Aniston floored audiences in a gorgeous red Salvatore Ferragamo gown to present an award to the nominees and Kerry Washington wowed in a pink Miu Miu number. The girls couldn't have picked more flattering cuts.

The two most talked about women from last night by far were Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lawrence. The two actresses won the most esteemed awards for their profession in Supporting Actress and Lead actress. Hathaway won for Les Miserables and could not have been more gracious. Her pink Prada dress and Tiffany necklace was criticized by E!'s Fashion Police but the actress made a safe gown choice and looked even better taking home the golden statue. Jennifer Lawrence took home her first Oscar looks glorious in a bold Dior gown. However, Lawrence broke the golden rule of fashion: you have to be able to move in your dress. The actress fell on her way to collect her award! Although she looked perfect standing up, the embarrassed actress may select a slimmer gown next time.

Our two best dressed women at the Oscars have to be Amy Adams and Halle Berry. Although neither took home an award, and Halle only presented the tribute to James Bond, they won for the best fashion last night. Amy Adams wore Oscar de la Renta with a darling bodice and feather skirt. Halle wore a pinstripe Versace dress that showed her stunning figure and was classy 100% of the time.

Although there is no "worst dressed" from last night, there are a few looks that can be deemed the most daring. Jessica Chastain wore a champagne Armani dress. Although the cut is flawless, the color clearly washed her out in a major way. Naomi Watts wore the same deigned with a different cut and fearless fit. Reese Witherspoon chose Louis Vuitton for the event but her bust was all wrong for this event. Want to give your input?
