Chunky Chain
When is being chunky a very good thing? When it's around your neck! Chunky jewelry is adorable for the upcoming fashion season. Formerly a look rocked by Mr. T, the gold thick chains are coming out in full high fashion style. Women like to pair their dainty summer and spring ensembles with a bold, golden chain and the look is stylin'.
Celebrities love this chunky chain look. Gweneth Paltrow wears her chain casually stacked with another locket. The new mom and award winning actress knows fashion. Jennifer Lopez and Ashley Madekwe from Revenge also wear this adorable trend for a day out on the town or on the cover of Glamour magazine.
The single chain is the most popular way to wear the look. You can find a simple large one metal piece or a plastic inspired version with painted colors. The chain is best with preppy, put together ensembles. You don't want the rest of your outfit to be too busy so a plain button down is the best shirt for this trend.
The other way to wear these adorable pieces is to stack them. You can find an extra long chain and loop it for the appearance of a double chain or you can buy two of the same chain and wear them at different lengths to create the looks above. You can also wear different types of chains or a simple necklace to create the stacking trend!
If the chunky chain necklace is too much for your style then there is still a way to wear the trend with more subtle accents! Chunky bracelets are chic for the new season. Miley Cyrus and countless others wear this trend both casually and to awards ceremonies. You can stack these items with a watch or simple metal bracelet or wear them stacked together.
To create your own version of the trend, follow the DIY graphic above! You can use plastic tubing, spray paint, cue-tips and to create this chic necklace. Go make your own piece above!
