High Waisted, High Fashion

Extra high shorts are extra in this season. This vintage look is finding it's way to every style in every venue. Concert goers, club scene gals and chic fashionistas love this down to earth look for everyday wear. Jeans, pleated cottons and patterned spandex look amazing for Spring and Summer. This super retro look is flattering and comfortable in the warmer weather.

Celebrities love this high waisted trend. Blake Lively and Lauren Conrad love their black tiny shorts. The color and fit is super flattering on their tiny waists and the piece is very versatile. You can wear the look daytime like Blake or out for the night like Conrad. Younger and trendier celeb Miley Cyrus loves her high waist Levi's for a day on the town.

You can rock the bright colors for Spring and Summer! The warmer seasons beg for color pops and fun prints! A floral print is chic for day or night in the seasons of life and fin. Neon colors are perfect in lace or printed fabrics. Pair this look with a plain cotton shirt and you'll be ready in a snap!

Jeans are, of course, the most popular look for the trend. High Levi's and other brands were made popular around the 1980's when Baywatch was making waves on television. This beachy look is coming back with an array of styles. A plain white or black, loose cotton shirt looks great with the hight waist because the shorts cinch you at your littlest point- the waist. A flowing tank with an open back is also an amazing look.

You can wear this piece as a casual look for the beach or dress it up with a blouse or accessories. At the beach, you can wear it with a simple bandeau with a button down shirt. The look is flirty and fun. The jeans also are fabulous when paired with a sheer button down top or a statement necklace.

You can get the look for cheap! Find an old pair of jeans at a thrift store or find a pair of your mom's old jeans to get the look! Simply draw a line across where you want them to sit and snip! Happy shopping trend lovers.
