Funky Footwear: Multicolored Sandals

Multicolored sandals are here for the season! This footwear is perfect for summer and all the vibrance that comes with it. The sandal season keeps our feet warm and our style fresh. This multicolored shoe is perfect for a dress or shorts. You can accent one of the colors in the piece or wear a simple ensemble so the shoes are the centerpiece of your style. Check out some of the hottest styles for this trend below:

Single Strap

The single strap gladiator style shoe is great for casual wear. This makes your foot look slimmer by creating a thin line down the front of your arch. Usually, the strap on top is a different color than the ankle and side straps. Look in stores like Bloomingdales, Nordstrom and Macy's for the styles above.

Strappy

The extremely strappy style of this trend is loud and bold. This rainbow inspired sandal is great for a simple white or black dress. Since you have a plethora of colors on your feet, tone down your outfit to compensate. Steve Madden and PacSun sell the styles above.

Color Block Style

The color block style is extremely popular for this trend. Each strap section has one color unique to that section. Usually, the color palette follows a theme. Either all pastels or complimentary colors. Choose which best suits your style and usual look. Thick or thin straps work for this shoe.

Classic Thongs

This between the toes style is the most classic look of summer. This wanderer inspired look is comfortable and practical. You can choose a colorful, tribal inspired pattern or do the color block style. Shop in stores and online for this hot summer trend.

Pardon My French

French is the language of love. France is one of the most romantic cities in the world and a top fashion city for the world to look up to. French sayings on T-shirts are tres chic. They can be casual yet flirty. Worn with jean the American way or with a long skirt and/or tutu in the girliest way possible.

These shirts are cheeky and fun. You can buy into the mustache hipster trend or find a fun way to express your own personality. Show that you love love with an amour shirt or be ironic with a surrealist hint. These shirts can be funky or trendy chic.

These funky street ready tops are perfect for a stroll in or out of Paris. They are available online and in boutiques like Urban Outfitters and TopShop. With overalls and a barret you'll look like a real Parisian. White with black lettering is a nod to the early Chanel shirts.

You can make your own shirts with companies like Custom Ink. The style can pay homage to a moulin rouge burlesque type style or you can simply select your favorite saying to adorn on your chest. Mix and match with winter or summer pieces for the most versatile piece yet.

Find a popular saying for a cheeky casual day out or select your favorite style above. This trend is perfect for summer travel or your couch in the great indoors.

DIY Wrap Dress

Need a simple gown in a pinch? We have the perfect solution. Thanks to A Pair and a Spare DIY we have the greatest Do It Yourself dress of all time. All you need is some basic sewing skills and some fabric to create this darling floor length gown. Follow the directions for this party ready ensemble.

The first thing to do is to make a maxi skirt. Create the split by only sewing the top 30cm (or so) of the long seam together. To make the bodice you will need around 2m of fabric – preferably silk, with a width of between 50cm and 1m.

1. Place the strip of fabric over your shoulder and tuck one end of the fabric into the maxi skirt.

2. Twist and tighten the fabric over your shoulder, making sure to cover your breast properly and bring it around your back.

3. Bring the fabric across the front covering your other breast then bring the fabric around tightly behind your back again.

4. Keep wrapping tightly until you have run out of fabric. When this happens tuck the end into the wrapped fabric and stitch down. Then you're done! Enjoy your new creation.

Middle Knot Dress

Cut out dresses have been huge this year. This specific style of cut out is perfect for summer fun. The knot middle dress is flirty and chic for any cotton dress. The funky style is perfect for the beach or a sunny afternoon. The cuts near the rib cage make you look slim and sleek.

This look is chic for an evening out as well. Black knotted dresses are fun because the stark contrast of fabric color and skin is striking. You can wear a variety of shoes with this look including boots and wedges. The look can be worn in short or long sleeves. This original style is daring and hot for 2013.

Want the look? You'll have to search hard online at stores like Nasty Gal and Urban Outfitters to find this trend. You can also buy a cheap cotton dress and make it yourself! One blogger cut into the sides of a plain maxi dress a few inches below the bra, leaving the center front and back intact. She then turned the skirt inside out twice to make two knots. Voila!

If you need a little more instruction, follow the how to graphic above! Cut the dress in half and create a small hole in the top. Cut a slit in the bottom piece to tie through the center hole in the top. This DIY creation is simple and will turn a boring dress into a summer stunner.

Memorial Day Chic

Happy Memorial day fellow readers! This is a day to remember all who have served our country and be proud of those who fight to preserve America. The weekend is filled with festivities including barbecues, poolside parties and competitive games. What was the decor for the day? See below.

Depending on the occasion, you have different dress ensembles for this holiday. For a beach blowout, you of course need a suit, cover up and appropriate sandals for the sand. For a BBQ, a Maxi skirt or dress over a one piece and a clutch go from party to pool in a pinch. A pool party is the most casual of these events so break out the bikini!

One thing is for sure, you must check the forecast before stepping out in your outfit. A dress is the cutest way to celebrate Memorial Day fashion and say hello to the start of summer. If the weather is a little on the colder side, white pants, a simple sweater or a scarf can warm you up with still keeping in the beachy theme. Sunglasses, a hat, a bikini and a beach tote are essential for the holiday.

Red, white and blue is of course the color palette for the day. You can wear white jeans or shorts with a chambray top for a chillier climate or break out that navy and white striped dress for a sunny day. Red accessories like jewelry or a purse complete any white and blue look. Mix and match with some nautical elements for a fun filled outfit.

Cat eye sunglasses or aviators are tres chic for the outdoor events. If you're more ready to jump into summer, find a floral suit or dress to show you're enthusiasm. A woven bag and strappy wedges complete this flirty look. Whatever you do this weekend, if you're outside don't forget the sunblock!

Pencil Skirt Perfection

Pencil skirts are the only way to stay professional and cool this summer. The pencil skirt has been around for decades but now, more fun and funky styles are finding their ways into the office. Bright colors, vintage lengths and hemlines and 2013 patterns are making the workplace more fun than ever.

Starlets love their pencil skirts for any occasion. The tight leather look has been sported on Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Hudson. These ladies can pair any shoe with a heel or boot with these flattering styles. The pencil skirt elongates your middle and makes your waist look tiny, even if you're not a celebrity.

The pencil skirt has a a number of styles and fashions for any girl. These items are overwhelmingly feminine. They are flattering on almost any body type if tailored correctly. The ruffled pencil skirt is very in with the 2013 styles. Tribal prints and lace are also tres chic for summer and add a little flare to a stuffy office ensemble.

Below the knee length styles are trendy for this year. This vintage cut is adorable for office couture. The length will never make you look out of place in a professional environment and the below the knee slims your shape by elongating your torso. Polka dots accentuate the 750s style pencil skirt and compliment a plain blouse to perfection.

Crazy prints are crazy fabulous. Floral prints are the best for spring and summer. A vibrant pink flower pattern mixes darling with accent colors or more plain pink. A peplum top or a tucked in blouse finishes the look. Throw on some colored or nude pumps and a blazer to take the look from day to night flawlessly. You can find your pencil skirts at major department stores and boutique style shops like Forever 21 and Banana Republic.

Celebrities in Their Favorite T-Shirts

Everyone has one: a favorite T-shirt. Celebrities are no different. Graphic shirts never get old. Whether it's a shirt from a concert you went to years ago or a sports team you won with in high school, your favorite shirt gets a lot of love. Check out the EW Gallery for all the pictures above. Let's examine some of the graphic shirt trends in Hollywood right now.

Causes

Celebrities have the power of persuasion. Whatever they wear or say will make its way to the masses. Celebrities can use this power for the good of a social cause! Brittany Murphy wanted to show her support for the Rock the Vote campaign to get youth out voting for America. Audrina wanted to spread awareness of for Breast Cancer in the hopes of people donating to the cause or getting breast exams themselves. Halle Berry also takes advantage of this for her love of sustainability and environmental support.

The Band T

Some celebrities like to rock their favorite band. Katy Perry shows her favorite song lyrics for the 80s ballad Girls Just Want To Have Fun. Tina Fey loves the Who and Miley Cyrus even sported a Jonas Brothers T-shirt. Don't forget, she once toured with the band!

Cheeky

How I Mat Your Mother Star Alyson Hannigan loves her ducky t-shirt that the late John Ritter gave to her on the set of Buffy. Megan Fox likes the vintage style of the movie Star Wars graphic shirt. Lindsay Lohan may have been playing off the tabloids by wering a "coke" shirt but if taken literally, this shirt is just a subtle nicety.

Ironic Statements

Often times celebrities use their shirts to do the talking. Jessica Simpson wore hers to confront the rumors that she was talentless and only had money to make her famous. Naomi also wore an ironic shirt after her dispute with her assistant over her alleged assault. Paris Hilton is constantly wearing ironic shirts to confront the press to demonstrate she doesn't care about her bad publicity.

Whatever your statement, purpose or design, T-shirts are in. This summer break out your shirt collection to adorn your favorite. For more celebrity shirts, visit the Glamour website gallery!

Dares for Your Shape

A few months back, we covered how to dress for your shape. Certain dresses and ensembles look best on specific body types because the accentuate certain curves or play down larger parts of the body. These styles are all about what catches the eye in a positive light. However, this is not to say certain articles of clothing are ever ruled out for a gal just because she has a pear shape or bigger breasts. This month, embrace your shape and dare to dress differently! Step out of your comfort zone. Here are some dares for your shape brought to you by Refinery 29.

The Apple

Challenge: Ruching
Why it works: Skip pieces with all-over bunching or gathering that's directly on top of your largest measurement. When ruching is used minimally and lies on the bias, it can actually help whittle your middle.

Botticelli Babe

Challenge: Oversized sweaters
Why it works: Larger-cut clothing can make you look boxy and bigger than you really are, but it's all about the right proportions. Keep your oversized sweater roomy, but not too tented. Pair it with a slim-fit pant, low booties, or pumps, or, to accentuate the curve of your waist, a thin accent belt.

Boyish

Challenge: Shift dresses
Why it works: These kind of dresses won't exactly add Marilyn Monroe-like curves to your frame, but you can still stock up on these effortless wardrobe pieces. Go for options with colorblocking and graphics that will add dimension to your linear body.

Busty

Challenge: Vests
Why it works: It can be quite difficult to find a vest that not only fits, but doesn't struggle to fasten over your largest measurement. However, a long, tailored vest is just the trick. Choose a larger cut that falls past your hips, and use it as a layering piece that can hang open over any chic ensemble.

Small Chest

Challenge: Deep V-necks
Why it works: You don't need tons of cleavage (or a push-up bra) to make a flowing, V-neck look as sexy as ever. And for the not so faint of heart, dare to choose an extra-deep plunging neckline — it's a risqué move that you can totally pull off.

Hourglass

Challenge: Peplum
Why it works: Your shape has been blessed with the very same curves that peplum provides — a narrow waist and voluptuous hips. But this kind of top will only help emphasize what nature has already made possible. And, really, what's wrong with that?

The Pear

Challenge: Printed trousers
Why it works: Printed pants definitely have an eye-catching kind of effect. Don't shy away from it. Pick a print that's impactful, yet compact. It will have the same wow power but won't make you feel like your derriere is on display.

Petite & Compact

Challenge: Ruffled
Why it works: Ah, ruffles. They can be the perfect accent, or they can straight up swallow you whole. Please go with the former for your small frame and look for understated, demure ridges that act as a sweet, not obnoxious, add-on.

Short Legs

Challenge: Full, midi-skirts
Why it works: For most women, a midi-skirt falls about mid-calf, but that may not always be the case for you. Choose one that's high-waisted (perfect for your longer torso) and don a pair of your highest, super-femme heels (without ankle straps is best) to give a boost of height and lengthen your legs.

Short Torso

Challenge: Cropped jackets
Why it works: Despite what the measurements tell you, you can pair short (waist) and short (top) without actually stunting your height. The trick is all in the color combination. Choose a bold jacket and dark or monochrome pieces underneath, so you won't be able to tell where your waist begins or ends. It's all a wonderful illusion.

There you have it ladies! Dare to be different and try some of the suggestions above for your body type.
