Infinity Scarves

Scarves for Fall are no new item to the fashion scene. However, infinity scarves are the thing to own this season. An infinity scarf is a never ending piece of fabric that loops around your neck. There are no ends or frayed tassels in this look. The infinity look is often mimicked by regular scarves in the way that they are tied but they can often come undone and look messy. This giant loop looks great with outerwear and shirts for the upcoming months.

Chunky infinity scarves are the best for cold days! You can select colors and fabrics that are subtle and toned down to match your seasonally drab attire. Black, grey and plaid are super cute for Fall and Winter. Black looks great with boots and sweaters. Knit fabrics and herringbone styles are great for this reserved look.

Depending on your individual style, you can alter the infinity scarf any way you'd like to! Satin styles are great for dressing up and outfit and happy hours. Wooly, knit styles are definitely more casual and look stunning with jeans. Printed scarves are going to be adorable for winter months and are great for layering and snuggling up next to a fire. You should always stay current to the trends to know what to look for. Animal prints, stripes and polka dots are great for this season. Look for your favorite colors in stores now!

You can also use these scarves to add a bit of individualism and color to your ensemble. Layering is adorable for Fall and the pieces above are great additions to your wardrobe. Tribal prints aren't just for summer bikinis. You can find colors that match your skin tone, eyes and hair for fashion perfection. Lighter floral scarves are always cute and transition well into the warmer months!

If you're more of a crafty person, you can make your very own infinity scarf! Find an old T-shirt with a fun print, cut and sew to perfection! You can make it as thick or thin as your desire! Follow the instructional below for a trendy new scarf!

Long Sleeve Frocks

Long sleeve dresses are fabulous for this season! They are classy, versatile and just warm enough to brave the chilly days. These styles are great for work, day time leisure or an evening out. You can buy styles that are dressy or casual and plain or printed! Most styles are just below the fingertip in length and have either full sleeves or a 3/4 length sleeve.

Crazy colorful prints aren't just for summer dresses. Printed sleeve dresses are great for fashionable days in Fall. You can shop for preppy creations with anchors and off the shoulder cuts for weddings and sailing or a tribal inspired print to turn heads day or night. This style looks amazing with an open back or a synched waistline. Sleeves can sling tight to your arms or flow loosely for a more ethereal look.

Dark tones of black and navy are supremely popular colors for this trend. Black can be worn with almost any shoe or accessory to work or to a party depending on the style. Loose cotton dresses can be dressed up for day time and lace accents turn this look into holiday party chic. Lace sleeves or sparkle embellishment are popular with black sleeved dresses. The necklines vary from V-neck to high neck and even scoop lines.

Whites and creme color sleeve dresses are simple and elegant for parties and day wear. Looser fitting styles are great with a synched, belted waist and fun jewelry or printed accents. White lace will never tire and you can transform it into party chic with a fun necklace and Fall booties. Banded styles are also super popular for this trend. The bodicon style is sexy and clings to your shape to show off curves.

Mint and lace are super trendy for this season. For this trend, you're in luck! There are countless ways to show off these hot styles. Mint sleeve dresses are perfect for casual afternoon strolls and coffee dates. These dresses look great with brown or nude shoes and accessories. You can find bags, heels or boots to go along with the color trend. All lace sleeve dresses are very popular and are reminiscent of the "mod" style of dress. They are usually loose fitting and have a square cut the runs straight down you figure. Lace can be sheer or thick depending on your desired style.

Fun colors are also chic for this trend. You can find a neon green, purple, pink or orange to brighten up your Fall attire. The best part about this style is the is the ability to wear nearly any shoe with your frock. Tall boots make for a casual look with wooly socks keeping you warm and dry! Flats are a classic style for warmer days and sandals for sunshine and shorelines. You can even wear booties or close toe oxford shoes for work attire. Tights look darling under these dresses as well.

What girl doesn't need a little glitter in her life? These fabulous sparkling styles are fresh for holiday parties and high class functions. Shop for styles from Express and Arden B with mesh and shimmer accents. You can even get a dress with crystals inspired by Britney Spears' body suit in her Toxic music video. The Mark of Beauty

"I don't like standard beauty - there is no beauty without strangeness."  ~Karl Lagerfeld
Dear Sir. Lagerfeld, I couldn't agree more!! There truly is beauty in uniqueness. Each of us were wonderfully and beautifully made piece by piece and inch by inch. How boring the world would be if we all thought alike, looked alike and acted alike. Yes, there may be things about yourself that you would change at the drop of a hat, but we are all guilty of these thoughts. Suprisingly, in most cases, your flaws are what make you, YOU. Embrace your flaw-power!

There is NO one on this earth like you, even more there is no one who can bring to this universe what you possess. This week, let's take a journey to embrace natural beauty. In fact we're about to get the facts behind one of the most popular natural marks of beauty.....
BEAUTY MARKS!!!!

"One of the trademarks of timeless sex appeal is a beauty spot also known as the beauty mark. A true vintage bombshell look doesn’t seem complete without it. A delicate black or brown mark placed on the cheek, above the lips or near the eye exaggerates femininity and draws attention to your favourite features." ( More Info Here )

HOWEVER, THIS WASN'T ALWAYS THE CASE!

In Greek mythology, the gods were said to be jealous of those who looked too perfect and hence created a small dark mark on their faces, just to disturb their perfection. They believed this is what the natural placements of the beauty marks meant

"Beauty marks haven't always been beautiful; in fact, for a significant part of human history, they've been considered hideous, bad luck, or even a sign of poor money management." ( http://www.bellasugar.com/Beauty-Marks-Birthmarks-Moles-History-18372937 )
"In the 17th century, when it’s use was at an all time high, it coincided with the smallpox epidemic. Many proofs have now been arose that it was to actually cover up the smallpox which would scare people from you. But the epidemic eventually subsided but people still used it, women used it for attracting possible suitors."  ( Why do Women Put on Beauty Marks )

WHEN IT ALL TURNED AROUND!

Ms. Monroe helped beauty marks become even more popular in the 50's
The one and only Ms. Dandridge

"Beauty spots, known to the medically minded by the rather less alluring name of ‘melanocytic nevus’, (Medical Info behind the mole/beauty mark  ) have been used as a cosmetic enhancement since Roman times, and have dipped in and out of fashion ever since. In those days they consisted of kohl marks or “patches” made from black taffetta or red spanish leather. They were worn on the face, neck or shoulders and could be quite intricately designed patterns, increasing in size as fashion dictated." ( More Info )

DIFFERENT AREAS HAD DIFFERENT MEANINGS!

I Love How Ms. Kelly haw had fun with her's!!
MEANINGS:
 On the cheek-flirty
At the corner of the mouth- kissable
On the forehead- haughty
By laughter lines- playful
Above the lips- mischievous
lower lips – discreet
next to the eye- provocative
on the nose- impudent
Per Madame Du Barry, a courtesan of Louis XV  (More Info on Madame DuBarry )

And, per the Greeks

Right eyebrow... symbolises a highly active and successful life.
Corner of the eye... indicates an honest, reliable and forthright person.
Nose... indicates a person who will be a sincere friend and a hard-working individual.
Cheek (either)... indicates a serious and studious person who has no interest in material pleasures.
Chin... indicative of people who are affectionate and caring. These people adapt easily to any situation. They love travelling and respect the law of the land. They are also dedicated and conscientious workers and willingly accept responsibilities.
Lips... indicative of people who always aspire to get ahead in life.

NEW AGE BEAUTY MARKS!

Over the years women have gotten even more creative with their beauty marks. Now they can vary in color size and detailing. Check this out!!!

( The History Behind Chanel's Faux Beauty Marks )
So what exactly are those o so cute little Chanel signs in the place of a mole/beauty mark called?

Mouches

"Mouches were typically made of black silk or velvet and were worn to offset the ultra-pale, powdered complexions that were stylish in that era, as well as to hide blemishes and smallpox scars. They began as circular dots but evolved to include shapes such as hearts, stars and even designs as elaborate as cupids or, according some accounts, horse-drawn carriages (!)."

Even peircings can be labeled as beauty marks!

Okay! I wont lie..I wanted a small nose ring some time ago.. #guilty

TOUCH OF FEMININITY

Since I was a little girl, I was ALWAYS been fascinated with beauty marks. They were like the final little touch of beauty on a woman's face.
I recently had a little beauty mark fun of my own when a little break out occurred. I put my make up to use and got the marking! :-)
Check it out!!

Below is a post from my Instagram page where I encouraged all my IG female followers to show your "break outs" whose boss!

"When In doubt..make it a mole" :-)

And here I thought I was doing something! Welp like they say, there is nothing new under the sun. Check out these facts

" Men were not adverse to the odd beauty patch or two, much like in the 18th century, and placement could dictate political allegiance or merely hide a bad skin day. Handy if you had succumbed to one of the many nasty diseases doing the rounds in those hygienically challenged days.
Black silk beauty spots also had a more practical use concealing smallpox scars and disfigurements" ( Queen of Vintage )

And guess what ladies??!! You can do the same in this century! All you need are a few small tools..look below!

A pimple! lol

Cream liner

or

liquid liner pen, or regular liquid liner

Ladies!!! Its time to embrace your natural beauty, or if you don't have a beauty mark, why not have fun one wild night and create one!! Women have been doing it for centuries as you now know! Your tuuurrnn!! xoxoxoxoxo
