FashionShow

Ever since 1920, when television's first became commercially available, the entire globe was given the best one stop everything into the world of fashion! Designers had their time to shine as each television show donned one of their garments, and if not, it gave designers great inspiration to execute a vision.
Many television shows have made fashion the underlining premise of their show, catching the eyes of viewers by dressing the cast in the most trendy and stunning wardrobes. Nowadays, the most top rated television shows are also the most fashionable. Each cast member is dressed in some of the best designers garments in the entire world, giving both the actor and designer a platform to showcase their personalities.

Up and coming designers have taken advantage of the largely fashion incorporated television world as well by dressing different casts in their newly created ensembles, providing them an opportunity to showcase their work. The large focus on fashion on cable television has really helped those in the fashion industry to not only 'get their name out', but by also creating and enforcing the latest trends.
“InStyle” and “FASHIONOTES” have both come up with lists of the most fashionable television shows ever.
Some of these shows include:

Gossip Girl, a show revolving around the lives of those living on the Upper East Side in NYC. The cast of Gossip Girl is generally seen wearing designers like Alexander McQueen, paired with clutches by designers such as Fendi or Moschino.

Mad Men, one of the top-rated shows on TV today, has made itself one of the most fashion-forward shows out there. The cast of Mad Men is decked out in the most extravagant 50s wear.

Going back a few years, Beverly Hills 90210, and yes the original one, is also known to have had some of the best fashion in a television show ever. Especially at the time when the show debuted. The clothing worn on 90210 was at the top of the 90's fashion game.

It is ever so common that just about everyone that watches television notices the fashion choices, and more than likely uses television as their top rated fashion guide.

Emmys Fashion 2012

The 2012 Prime Time Emmy Awards glammed up downtown Los Angeles Sunday night, and celebrities displayed some of the season's hottest trends from bold colors and blues to asymmetrical styles. There were winners and losers of the night both in esteemed awards and fashion.

Although "worst" and "best" dressed lists have been rampant on television and the blogosphere, many different sources conflict with one another in their decisions and Plush is about to weigh in. The steamy night provided for some hair mishaps and gown length was definitely a must have for the formal Red Carpet event. Popular runway trends like lace, floral patterns, and neon colors, inspired starlettes this weekend.

One popular trend was lighter hues of blue and teal. Glamorous stars like Zooey Deschanel, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, and Maria Menounos adorned flowing blue gowns at the awards ceremony. Each star selected their dresses according to personal style and glam. Zooey went for a more playful ballerina style, sweetheart neck, ball gown whereas Sofia went for a "va-va-voom" look more consistent with her Columbian sex appeal. Both Maria and Heidi went for the Angelina Jolie inspired leg revealing slits in their blue dress choices.

Actresses Gennifer Goodwin and Leslie Mann opted for more daring, current fashion trends. Goodwin looked stunning in a nude gown covered in red-orange gown floral detailing by Monique Lhuillier. The dress was certainly unique and fit the star perfectly. Mann, accompanied by her husband Judd Apatow creator of TV Show Girls, was thrilled to be wearing a dress from her favorite designer Naeem Khan. Mann looked vibrant in the neon yellow and had fun playing with her dress pockets during the event!

Funny women Kat Dennings and Tina Fey looked perfect in their floor-length red gowns. Red has always been an awards show favorite in the past and these ladies certainly got it right. Kat picked a dress to suit her bustier figure as Tina selected a tight fitting number with structure and embellishment around the top.

The ladies of show Modern Family definitely shined on the Red Carpet. Julie Bowen looked slender and tan in her neon green number as a younger Sarah Hyland selected a mature option of grey with floral embellishment. The cast picked up multiple wins for their performances and their styling.

Other shows' leading ladies were not as lucky. The women of Mad Men received harsh criticism for their looks on the carpet. Christina Hendricks is an inspiration to busty women everywhere, however, by belting her gown with a more casual belt, she seemed to ruin her look for the night. January Jones usually has a very clean cut, classic look. For the Emmys she decided to go for an edgier look with slicked back hair that looked a little too severe. Although Elisabeth Moss wasn't the worst dressed of the three ladies, the cut and pattern of the dress was awkward and you are the fashion company you keep.

The new HBO series Girls' inspired a challenge for the three actresses above. Their first Red Carpet debut had triumphs and defeats. Lena DunhamAllison Williams, and Zosia Mamet had a big night to get primped for—their runaway HBO hit, Girls, earned the Outstanding Comedy Series nomination! Williams opted for a green silk peplum Oscar de la Renta gown, while Dunham wore a lace Prada dress. Meanwhile, Mamet chose her Bibhu Mohapatra two-tone design at the last minute. Check out InStyle.com for their opinions on their dresses!

The stars that did not shine as bright this weekend ended up on some worst dressed lists. Many of these lists  include Glenn Close in a gothic, tapered frock, as well as Ashley Judd in Carolina Herrera, and Julianne Moore in a yellow long sleeve gown.

Kristen Wiig, Julianna Marguiles and Hayden Panettiere have also been featured on some "worst dressed" lists. However, these looks have not been as drastically insulted as the former gowns mentioned.
