Lace Up Ladies

Tis’ the season to be lacey! Summer is upon us and there is an overwhelming presence of lace on the streets. Lace is not new to the fashion scene as women have been adorning it for centuries. However, our generation has put a more modern spin on the fabric. Lace shorts, tanks and dresses have been all the rage since spring sprung. What’s the cause you ask? Although there is no firm diagnosis there may be a slight correlation between the lace craze and Kate Middleton. After her infamous wedding dress , the princess has been rocking the lace at every occasion and other celebs have followed suit.

Let's Talk Hair!

We all know that natural hair has become the quickest, yet healthiest hair fad to take over! The majority of my friends have jumped on the Natural Hair wagon, and while some people don't like to "follow the crowd" this crowd has proven the way to go!

I myself have tried to go natural about 3 times, and while I don't have the patience, I've been natural for almost a year by default [I've been rocking hair weave for some time!] ...

Aaliyah's MUA ROCKED The Boat!!!

Aaliyah in "Try Again"

I was busy watching the "Rock The Boat" video, as it was Aaliyah's last video she made [RIP] and I was taken back by her fabulous make up! Like really taken back! I wasn't into make up as much as I am now, and while I always admired her beauty, I didn't pick up on the complexity and artistic value of make up! Her Make Up Artist [MUA] has SKILLS! I continued on throughout her more recent videos and was equally astounded! I'm sure because her face is so flawless, her MUA had NO issue completing the masterpiece, but noticing the detail was remarkable!

Aaliyah in "Rock The Boat" the jewel connecting to lash detail is what was FANTASTIC!

Because Aaliyah gives off such a chill, girl next door, sexy without trying to be sexy vibe, it was easy to overlook the make up quality if you weren't paying attention! Now it just jumps out to me and I must say it's incredible!

iPhone+Water= a working phone?

Now that just doesn't sound normal at all! But now, we can all rest assured!

While I don't recommend tossing your phone in water, just know that it may be safe to do so! And for only 23 bucks for a water resistant iPhone case, why not?!

When I saw this deal on livingdeal.com, I literally JUMPED on it! Having a wild 2 year old son, this is literally a slice of Heaven pie! He's thrown my phone in the toilet on more than one occasion, and while my phone was working afterwards, it was never the same. Now, I will feel confident in knowing that when my phone is in his hands, I [and my phone] are both a little safer!

A Tribe Called FRESH!

This Week's Trend: For quite some time, tribal prints have been gracing the bodies of people of almost every nationality! I so appreciate this trend! When it becomes cool to embrace your culture, and those of others, you know we as a people are making way! Especially that of African culture! I completely love it!

I thought these nails were the cutest things ever! My cousin (a new fellow blogger!) found these creative nails on a peers instagram! How totally beyond are these?! I LOVE IT! It makes me want to call her to have something similar created for an event!

She also found this! If this isn't the baddest (in a FANTASTIC way of course!) ethnic chill outfit I've seen! She paired her shirt with a pair of denim, but her accessories is what nailed it for me! Those rings and earrings, not to mention the hair! This is so perfect!
