Corduroy is a fabulous fabric for this and next season. Corduroy is super versatile and terrifically stylish. You can make it super feminine or very down-to-earth casual. A ladylike shirt or a longer pant are extremely classic look. Skinny corduroy pants are a great for a street look and looser styles are funky and casual chic. With so many ways to wear, you can't go wrong.
Corduroy pants are the most classic way to show your cord style. Khaki or deep burgundy colors are Fall fabulous. You can wear your cords in the same style as your best fit jeans! The material is super warm, has a velvety feel and is machine washable. The cozy feel and fabric is great for chilly Fall and Winter days.
Color cords are hot and trendy right now. Purple, yellow, blue, red and green are great colors for the next few months. You can wear them skinny, flared or loose fitted like a boyfriend cut. The plush look is great with an understated jean shirt or casual button down. This look is great for casual Fridays and weekend dates!
The most stylish pant is the cord legging jean. The tighter and more tailored the better! The fabric looks fabulous in fitted styles and is very slimming. You can wear tucked into boots and accompanied by a blazer for more formal occasions. This look is also amazing with flats and heels. These styles are available at J. Crew, Madewell, Gap and the Banana Republic.
Different styles of corduroy are popping up on the style scene! Dresses and skirts are more feminine ways to rock the trend. Full cord skirts or pencil styles are adorable with tights and blouses or layered sweaters. You can find a corduroy dress to outfit your hipster look! Light colors are fun and retro for this season. Look for the warmer color palates that resemble fallen leaves like yellow, orange, brown and reds.
Corduroy shoes are great for this seasons footwear. Toms make fabulous flats for the corduroy trend. The shoes come in many colors including green, brown and purple and are for a great cause. When you wear your cord styles you can think of the childhood charities you helped support by buying your Toms. Other companies like Vans and Converse make cord shoes as well. Although these shoes are casual, they look great with jeans and funky ensembles.
