Boot Watch 2012: Frye

The Frye Company is one of the oldest operating shoe manufacturers in the United States. The company was founded by John A. Frye in 1863 as a single shoe-making shop in Marlborough, Massachusetts. Frye gained notoriety for production of multiple styles of boots like harness and engineer boots. The Frye family sold the company in 1945 and it was moved from Massachusetts in 1980 later to be purchased by Jimlar Corp. and based is currently based in Great Neck, New York. Today, the company makes an array of shoes, handbags and other leather accessories for men, women and children.

Their classic "Pull On" and "Button" styles are extremely popular. They are made from genuine leather and constantly withstand the test of time. Frye's bestsellers will be all over the streets this season and range from $200 to $400. The "Jackie", seen above, is a great classic style to pair with any pant. Skinny jeans tucked into the soft leather is the best way to show off your new Fryes.

Frye also has a plethora of vintage "Work" boots available for purchase. These clunkier styles are perfect for the colder months. Their worn down look is more casual but can look darling with a more retro outfit. These boots are definitely high quality and are meant to be worn by the more active, sportier type girls.

The "Logo" styles are by far a favorite look among fashionistas. The logo styles come in Melissa and Rider fashions and are the perfect touch to any outfit. These boots are close to $400 so you want to show them off! Wear these with a skirt, dress, shorts or a tucked in pant to flaunt your Frye logo.

You can never go wrong with a classic riding boot. Frye has a variety of harness and riding styles to choose from with a flawless leather polish, antiqued finish and amazing quality. Mixing textures of leather is perfectly chic for the fall and winter months. Keep an eye out for Frye deals on Shopbop, Zappos and Polyvore!
