Sock It To Me!
What could be cuter than school girl knee highs coming back in style? Nothing! Knee high and over the knee socks are trendier than trendy for this season! Top designers have incorporated the look into their Fall styles and we've followed suit. Showing off what keeps your feet warm is the new accessory statement of the year.
Stars like Eva Longoria, Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens have been spotted rocking this trend for the colder months. The tips of your socks can peek out from behind an array of fashionable boots. This look is undoubtedly casual and utterly adorable. Picking neutral greys or navy colors is the most popular way to wear these tall socks.
For the earlier weeks in Fall, you can wear the look with a short dress or shorts. The insulated socks and boots should be enough to keep your legs warm until the temperatures start to drop and snow begins to fall. You can choose a patterned sock for a vintage look as long as the rest of your outfit remains fairly basic. Jean shorts keep the look very relaxed and fun! Be sure the socks are the main focal point of your ensemble and be sure not to distract with excess accessories.
How you rock the trend is completely up to you! Wearing taller socks with a short dress is tres chic. You can pair even higher over the knees with shorter boots. This gives your legs the appearance of added length. For those of you that hate the cold, be sure to buy your socks a little larger so you can put them over jeans! This look is darling as long as your skinny style pant can fit properly into the sock. Not lumpy tucks ladies!
These darling knit socks are perfect over leggings and jeans. Bright or white colored socks are great with any color brown boot. Black boots pair best with grey and have more of a winter feel with bleaker colors. Socks should rest right below your knee and a few inches above the top of your boot for the full effect!
This cozy look is great for rainy weather. Socks insulate to keep your feet warm and are trendy chic with wellies and other rain boot styles. Tights of any color and transparency can look dashing with your knee highs as well.
Can't spring for the new trend? Don't have time to go shopping? No worries! Take an old pair of socks, cut the toes, and poof! You have home made leg warmer, knee high socks. Go buy or make your own peek-a-boo socks!
