"I see trees of green........ red roses too
I see em bloom..... for me and for you
And I think to myself.... what a wonderful world.
I see skies of blue..... clouds of white
Bright blessed days....dark sacred nights
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world.
The colors of a rainbow.....so pretty ..in the sky
Are also on the faces.....of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands.....sayin.. how do you do
They're really sayin......i love you.
I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow
They'll learn much more.....than I'll never know
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world... "

Indeed it is folks- such a wonderful world, full of color!!! Hello Guys and Dolls! Quick lesson! Ever heard of the color wheel? This is a reminder of our elementary school past, however, it's back with a pleasant haunting now!
Ever wonder why certain colors just seem to mesh so well together? Or why particular colors seem to envoke certain thoughts or make us feel a certain way?? Well, no need to wonder any longer! Today class, we will explore the world of color. Although this is a science, it is all pretty cool!!!!!
Ever wonder why certain colors just seem to mesh so well together? Or why particular colors seem to envoke certain thoughts or make us feel a certain way?? Well, no need to wonder any longer! Today class, we will explore the world of color. Although this is a science, it is all pretty cool!!!!!
Lets start with the definition of the color wheel!
Color Wheel : A color wheel or color circle is an abstract illustrative organization of color hues around a circle that shows relationships between primary colors, secondary colors, complementary colors, etc. ( Find out more here )
Below are three diagrams of color wheel examples
1. Colors directly next to each other (i.e. yellow and yellow-orange; yellow and yellow-green; violet and blue-violet, etc.)
2. Colors that form right (90 degree) angles with each other (i.e. yellow and red-orange; blue and violet-red; green and orange, etc.)
3. Colors directly across from each other (i.e. yellow and violet; blue and orange; red and green, etc.)
4. Colors that form a T (i.e. blue, orange, and violet-red; yellow, violet, and red-orange; yellow, blue-green, and red-orange, etc.)
5. Colors that form an X (i.e. blue, orange, violet-red, and yellow, violet, blue-green, and red-orange, etc.)

Cool right?? Quick break down! Basically there is a reason why red and green go so well together. Or why violet and yellow catch the eye the way it does!! I was first intrigued by the color wheel when I began to study the art of make up. I often wondered how to choose what colors to use on a clients face when wardrobe was choosen. This was my first guide and it hasn't failed me yet! The color wheel is used and proven correct in serveal examples. Fashion, Make up, Home Decorating, Wedding scheme planning and so much more. Take a look!!

The other half of the color wheel that is interesting is the fact that colors actual "mean" something as well! Check out the info below!
BLACK
White
Brides wear white to symbolize innocence and purity. White reflects light and is considered a summer color. White is popular in decorating and in fashion because it is light, neutral, and goes with everything. However, white shows dirt and is therefore more difficult to keep clean than other colors. Doctors and nurses wear white to imply sterility.Red
The most emotionally intense color, red stimulates a faster heartbeat and breathing. It is also the color of love. Red clothing gets noticed and makes the wearer appear heavier. Since it is an extreme color, red clothing might not help people in negotiations or confrontations. Red cars are popular targets for thieves. In decorating, red is usually used as an accent. Decorators say that red furniture should be perfect since it will attract attention. The most romantic color, pink, is more tranquilizing. Sports teams sometimes paint the locker rooms used by opposing teams bright pink so their opponents will lose energy.
Blue
The color of the sky and the ocean, blue is one of the most popular colors. It causes the opposite reaction as red. Peaceful, tranquil blue causes the body to produce calming chemicals, so it is often used in bedrooms. Blue can also be cold and depressing. Fashion consultants recommend wearing blue to job interviews because it symbolizes loyalty. People are more productive in blue rooms. Studies show weightlifters are able to handle heavier weights in blue gyms.Green
Currently the most popular decorating color, green symbolizes nature. It is the easiest color on the eye and can improve vision. It is a calming, refreshing color. People waiting to appear on TV sit in "green rooms" to relax. Hospitals often use green because it relaxes patients. Brides in the Middle Ages wore green to symbolize fertility. Dark green is masculine, conservative, and implies wealth. However, seamstresses often refuse to use green thread on the eve of a fashion show for fear it will bring bad luck.Yellow
Cheerful sunny yellow is an attention getter. While it is considered an optimistic color, people lose their tempers more often in yellow rooms, and babies will cry more. It is the most difficult color for the eye to take in, so it can be overpowering if overused. Yellow enhances concentration, hence its use for legal pads. It also speeds metabolism.Purple [Which happens to be the most amazing color in the world in my opinon!!]
The color of royalty, purple connotes luxury, wealth, and sophistication. It is also feminine and romantic. However, because it is rare in nature, purple can appear artificial.Brown
Solid, reliable brown is the color of earth and is abundant in nature. Light brown implies genuineness while dark brown is similar to wood or leather. Brown can also be sad and wistful. Men are more apt to say brown is one of their favorite colors. ( Color Psychology Do different colors affect your mood? Read more: Color Psychology )And there you have it! The wonderful world of color...I've enjoyed writing this and re-learning I hope you have enjoyed this colorful journey as well!!

I've also been fascinated by the color wheel too. But I never thought of it as a makeup guide!
