Patch It Up!

Originally put on to cover the wear and tear of the early Fisherman sweaters, elbow patches have made themselves popular in the coming ages!

Elbow patch sweaters and jackets are definitely not new, but this trend, especially now is better known as "a classic." They are now gracing almost everything from knees of denim, to cardigans and even sport jackets. 

These patches can vary in texture, pattern and color, and because of this alone, it can change the whole mood of an outfit, go from seriously prep to trendy fun in seconds!

There are different styles to prep:

Traditional “Grandpa” style- The traditional look of a classic toned sweater with brown patches. This is a perfect addition to a simple and flirty little dress.

"Preppy Patch" style- The more fitted, feminine style of the elbow patch sweater. Most of the sweater’s in this category are shorter and are fitted in the arms. Most of these preppy styled sweaters are in stripes or subtle shades with patches small enough to just cover the elbow point. The preppy patch look works well with almost everything from a pair of jeans to a cute skirt with tights.

“Retro Bombshell” style- a more modern style where the patches are not the traditional round shape! These have been seen as hearts, stars and more in contrast to the circles!
