Heart Cut Outs

In honor of our weekly trend of midriff cut outs, this post is inspired by heart shaped cut outs. These adorable peek-a-boo heart shape holes are adorable for spring. They are most popularly worn on the back of a shirt or dress to reveal a little back. They can also grace swim suits, pants and the front chests of tops.

This look was adapted from bridal fashion. The heart was a simple way to show your love and unique style on your wedding day. Now, instead of a profession of love and a fun way to show your bridal figure off, it has been borrowed by casual looks for everyday wear. Plain white dresses and casual cotton styles adorn these heart cut outs.

The casual heart top is an easy and affordable look to grab this season. The backless look is great with an updo or high pony to show off your back details. You can wear it with a sticky bra or bandea lace top. It looks great as a fin dress top, paired with shorts or accompanied by a spring skinny jean.

You can go for the entire back as previously shown or select a smaller heart shape. A single small heart is darling for a cotton T-shirt or a casual slumpy top. It makes the loose fit more feminine and fun. You can also select a string of hearts in a button down look with or without sleeves.

The front heart is also a cheeky way to wear this trend. Although this is undoubtedly a more hipster and risky look, it has been sported by a variety of women on and off the runway. The heart look compliments a woman's natural shape because it frames her chest curves flawlessly. It gives "sweetheart" a new name.

The heart cut out is a versatile style for any weather. Although the warmer weather is starting to show its pretty head, a spring sweater is always an option for rainy days. You can find these unique creations on Etsy and elsewhere online. You can also create your own with scissors and a sewing needle!

Last but not least, don't forget about your springtime frocks! Patterns and fun pastels are great for this season and you can find both with heart backs! Find a high style so you can wear a proper bra or follow our previous post to create a low back support. Eat (and wear) your heart out girls!
